Furtographs
Andy Stolarek is a photographer with a vision, a passion for animals and a sense of humor. His portraits are sometimes colorful and quirky, sometimes spiritual – and always engaging. Which is why we chose him to represent Pup Squad Rescue on this website! All photographs seen here are of founder, Allison’s dogs – Giggles, Jimmy, Cupcake, Casey West, Nemo, Lovie, and Twinkie! The Urban Pet
This spacious pet store in West Hollywood is where Pup Squad Rescue holds it’s weekly adoptions. Owned by knowledgeable duo Zack and Karena, it offers a huge range of products, including eco-friendly toys, fancy bowls, and foods. Karena also runs Wags, a dog hiking service, and Zack is a veterinarian-recommended dog trainer whose group obedience classes are the most popular around. He also offers both private and group sessions. Check them out at www.theurbanpet.net
Lockwood Canine Training Center
A renowned trainer for over 25 years, Julie Iles has been invaluable in training some of Pup Squad Rescue’s more feisty dogs and boarding many more at her spacious, climate-controlled facility. Surrounded by National Forest in Frazier Park, it’s a welcome change to smell real pine trees instead of Pinesol as you enter! For more information, go to www.lockwoodcaninetrainingcenter.com

Frank Bruynbroek
He’s been called the Annie Liebowitz of pet portraiture and it’s easy to see why. Frank doesn’t just snap photos of your dog’s face, he captures their soul. A huge advocate of rescue dogs – most of his portraits are of former shelter dogs – Frank will give a $100 discount to those who donate to Pup Squad Rescue. So, treat yourself. If there’s one thing every dog lover should have, it’s a Frank Bruynbroek portrait hanging in their living room. Also available on his website are cards, calendars and posters. Bark N Bitches
A dog boutique in the heart of the funky Fairfax district, this place has the most relaxed pet store vibe in town. No doubt a reflection of the cool people who run it. Both Shannon and Kyle are fellow rescuers, specializing in bully breeds. On any given day, you can find the best organic food, fantastic selection of collars, an outfit for Fido, or their latest rescued pitbull. Kyle was also voted best dog trainer in LA by the LA Weekly for his work with aggressive dogs. Check them out at www.barknbitches.com
Orange County K9
Our friend Rick Brun was an ordinary dog lover who decided that if humans could reap the benefits of orthopedic memory foam beds - then so could dogs. And he set to work, gathering fine anti-bacterial faux leathers and premium memory foam to create his line of dog beds, SUV beds and travel beds. Designed to support and protect delicate spines, hips and joints, these beds come vet recommended, especially for dogs dealing with hip dysplasia, arthritis or post surgical recovery. They’re also ideal for large breeds and seniors who really appreciate a bit of extra lovin’ support. Don’t waste time, see these beds for yourself at www.ock9.com
LA Animal Services
The shelter system in Los Angeles often comes under heavy criticism for
euthanizing animals. But they do not cause the over-population. They are
simply the unfortunate last stop in having to deal with it. Many
compassionate shelter workers, and New Hope Co-ordinators campaign
tirelessly to find these dogs homes before their time is up. If you care
about animals, please ease their burden by spaying and neutering your pets,
volunteering at the shelter, donating paper and blankets, or adopting
directly from them. www.laanimalservices.com
